An economical measure to reduce “Wardrobing”The Shark Tag is highly effective in preventing “wardrobers” from purchasing, wearing and returning the garment for a full refund. The Shark Tag is easily attached to the front of the garment with a sharp locking pin, visually confirming the garment is secure, yet is easily removed by the customer at home with a pair of household scissors. Read how they helped an apparel retailer in Adelaide... What is Wardrobing?- Consumer purchases the item via internet, catalog or in a store
- Consumer wears or uses the item for a short period of time
- Consumer returns the worn garment or used item to the retailer for a full refund
- Retailer loses in many ways
- Refund on the initial sale
- Due to the worn condition any potential future sale of item
- Damaged items usually written off at retail not wholesale cost
- Contributes to out of stock on highest selling items
How Does Shark Tag Stop “Wardrobing”?- A red Shark Tag is placed on the front of the garment in a conspicuous position to prevent anyone from wearing the garment with the tag intact
- The consumer is free to try on the garment at home for size, fit and appearance.
- The consumer can easily remove Shark Tag at home with household scissors by cutting across the living hinge but once removed, the Shark Tag cannot be replaced on the garment.
- Retailers can make an intact Shark Tag part of their return policy on selected items, without an intact Shark Tag, consumer cannot get a full refund on the garment or item. Honest shoppers will not be impacted, only “wardrobers”, so
- Shark Tag makes it impossible to return used merchandise for a full refund.
